Movie Review: Hate Story 2

Hate Story 2, the sequel of Hate Story which released in the year 2012 has come out with a new vengeful woman, the character played by Surveen Chawla, the Tv actress and has contributed to the Punjabi Cinema is now making her debut in the Bollywood with a popular name in the television Jay Bhanushali.

The debutant director has done a great job by making this good watch for the society. The movie is actually a social drama and traces the track of Rakesh Roshan’s Khoon Bhari Maang and Quentin’s Kill Bill movies. The movie will also entertain the audience with the extra dose of erotica that has been added to the screenplay, which rendered a fascinating touch to the film. Other than the story of the female protagonist, Surveen, the movie also showcases a story of sultry Bengali actress, who gives a high point to the story, Paoli Dam, who strips well and wore bare skin like a wounded badge of honor.

The movie has a plot where Surveen plays the character of Mistrewss to a powerful Politian, Mandar Mhatre, played by Sushant Singh. On the contrary, she is shown as a simple girl who seeks to taste the real love, where she falls in love with a fellow guy, Jay Banushali, who is a photographer at profession. The couple elope away to set up their paradise away from the eyes of the power drunk politician. Both the actors in the lead role have done an impressive job with their acting skills. The movie has a thriller factor which will interest you to the core.
However, the character played by Sushant Singh,  powerful politician, steal the show with his influence in the lives of the protagonist as well as for his powerful performance.
On the flip side, the proceedings on screen lack cadence which is must-required for an erotic thriller. However, to stop you from being restless, the filmmaker has cleverly roped in adult-star Sunny Leone to shimmy. She beckons you to look at her pink lips in an item number.

The Hope Factory by Lavanya Sankaran

“By the end of [the] very first story, people half a world away have been transformed into complete human beings, full of frailties and fragile self-regard, achingly sympathetic. That’s why The Red Carpet reads like a revelation. . . . I recommend this book so highly!”
Carolyn See, The Washington Post
Lavanya Sankaran has come up with his debut novel and he has done a great job giving justice to her first literary work which brilliantly captures the vitality and the menace of a the contemporary city of India and how it enables to shape the dreams and aspirations of families residing in it. The author is a first-time novelist and has woven a narrative which touches on various burning issues of the present day times such as corruption, migration, acquisition of land for industry along with a battle between tradition and modernity, the novel deals with two parallel narrative tracks, one of which revolves around Anand Murthy, a first-generation entrepreneur who runs a moderately successful small-scale auto-components manufacturing business outside Bangalore.
the-hope-factory-review
The novel, The Hope Factory has a simple story of a family residing in Bangalore. It begins with Anand, who is on the verge of getting a contract from an international company and for which he requires to set up a new factory, which further requires 10 acres of land which he need to buy. But, in the current scenario, both finding a land and buying it are difficult tasks to do.
Anand is a Bangalore based successful man, who is well settled and married, at least how he portrays himself to be. He gets a chance to expand h little factory for which he needs money and land, and when living in New India both of these are hard to find.
Then, there is a character called Kamla, who is the maid in Anad’s house and lives dangerously close to the rim of tragedy. She lives with her son and the duo has their small hopes for self-betterment depend on the satisfaction of Anand’s wife.
However, Kamla’s son, who is a teenage boy keeps bad company and puts Anand’s marriage in trouble. But Kamala’s son keeps bad company, and Anand’s marriage is in trouble. The gloomy world where politics, crime and land meet on a single platform and which makes it a dangerous place for a common nice citizen, especially the one who is responsible for the well-being of various individuals.
khhk
The story is rich with irony and consideration and through this novel Lavanya Sankaran avows her gift render by God to her as a born storyteller with outstanding dexterity, innovation and acumen.
Amazingly, in my context the book has been penned without a single flaw. The story has been narrated in such a smooth way so much so as I was so much lost in its intriguing story that I did not notice any of it, whatever may be the case, it is just a plus point for this book.
Really a must read! Get your book from lelobooks, one of the leading online bookstores in India and win attractive discounts. Also you can win great exciting gift hampers over the purchase of various titles available in the store. Hurry now and indulge in the carnival.

Book Review: A Country For Men by Rohit Kumar Singh Jadon

Penned by Rohit Kumar Singh Jadon, A Country For Men states the ugly truth about India. It tells about the life of a girl in India as she is looked upon as a liability right from her birth,  which she bears and suffers at different stages of her life from the very people who are supposed to love her, cherish her.
The author in his second book enumerates the rape cases that caused a sensation in the country through the conduit of media which carries statistics and tries to shuffle through the facts available. The author further in this book throws light on the increasing number of rape cases in India, which is otherwise recognized as a cultural land in the world, the country also witnesses various dreadful acts against women, which further made things worse for them. Today, women are not even safe in their homes. The author has tried to shuffle through the facts available and arrive at what constitutes rape in India and why it exists as an ugly scar on this nation’s identity. The author, in the book has mentioned the historical, geographical and social view of the hate culture that the women are forced upon.

THE PLOT
The story revolves around the miserable life of women and opens up with statistics collected from different sources on the web and how the victim is always blamed for the act.
The chapter of Culprit List develops an interesting and readable copy as it in comprised of mindless statements made by politicians in command and administrators about women being the exclusive reason for being raped.“Crime against women is a highly stigmatized issue as society often blames women for the violence that they experience.”
WRITING STYLE
The author, Rohit Kumar has beautifully woven the statistics of rapes in various states around. The fact that the patriarchal make-up of Indian society and the familiarity of the executor of the misdeed to the fatality as the main reasons for the rape, across the nation.
The author has showcased India, which is deeply rooted social discrimination against women. The rule of law in India, which loose and government and lack in its management skills, shedding their responsibility of tackling these cases.
According to the statistics, more than 50% of rape cases were not reported by the victim fearing the shame that follows and unfortunately  the ones who report the FIR,  have to undergo through the procedures that follow which are even more embarrassing and distressing for the victim. Then, he brings in another shocking reality of India that 45 women were raped by police while in custody. On top of it,  after going all the hurdles , the victim has to face long duration of trials and many cases are often dropped long before all the proofs are heeded and judgement is provided. This clearly shows that this slow system has failed sadly to protect Indian women.

The author has made a bold attempt in highlighting various serious issues faced by women in India and if this doesn’t stop, then India would be just be “A Country for Men”.

Book Review: Like it Happened Yesterday

“Like it happened yesterday” by Ravinder Singh is a tale of his life, which has been described by him in a minute detail. In my context, it should have never happened, especially by an experienced author like Ravinder Singh as he is expected to bring out something substantial with a good writing style. Here in the book, the narration falls flat and when compared with his previous works I would rather like to read them once again. Read out this write-up to know more flaws and unexpected things which made me think if really the best selling author, Ravinder Singh has penned this novel.
sdsq
His previous works like ‘I Too Had A Love Story’ was spur-of-the-moment book with some sincerity, while his other book ‘Can Love Happen Twice?’ was premeditated along with overly dramatic elements, but with ‘Like It Happened Yesterday’, the author has come out with the worst, which I want to regard it as a strained and futile attempt and gives me an impression about the author’s situation if he has written this book on the gunpoint.
He epilogue sounds you great and provide you with a sincere portrayal of his life story. In three pages, his effort to grab the interest of readers succeeds, but with the turning of pages you will feel like you have been deceived.
“The story in this book is about those days when mobile phones, Internet and ATM cards hadn't yet invaded lives. It is of the time when Doordarshan was the only available channel on the Indian Television sets…” Sounds a little clichéd, right?
asss
He has just picked out some instances from his childhood memories and put them into black and white in the worst possible manner, just for the heck of writing a novel. When talking about plot…sorry guys there isn’t any. The story has missed the common notion, of intertwining different episodes in a thread called plot, which results in missing the connection between the consecutive chapters.
However, the only positive  or substantial thing which I found in the book is that it has addressed
social issues like child exploitation, peer pressure, and has given emphasis upon developing one the personality of an individual.
There are some scenes which have been exaggerated, yet the book fails to make a connection with the readers. This so-called novel, Like It Happened Yesterday is nothing more than an assortment of low-grade short stories. After reading this half-hearted effort of Ravinder Singh, I was neither happy nor sad, I was just frustrated for wasting my time on this book.
This is my personal review, but the die-hard fans of Ravinder Singh out there, do not feel disappointed as there are times when we tend to do mistakes. No worries as you may like this book even, with your different point of views.
