Book Review: With a Pinch of Salt by Jas Anand

The book is all about everyday humor, based on the observations that has been picked from various people’ funny  tendencies in people by creating caricatures and anecdotes around them. Like for example,  there are some people who cannot answer in a straight way as if you ask them a simple question, what is the time, they will not answer you what you have actually asked for rather tell you things happening in their life that are associated with the present time, just like beating about the bush and will bore you with their life stories.
In the  book, this tendency of beating about the bush ha been characterized as the fictional character called Simon Satellite and along with this character in the book, you will also find many more characters along with anecdotes. The book show that our life is a continuous series of stories and the tales in our lives keep on narrating as while one story ends, the other starts. If we all just realize and observe, we all do come in contact with so many people and characters, each having various stories of its own that they share with us at various points.
The first chapter of the book will introduce you with numerous characters and these characters are all those with whom the author has come across in his life till now and these people have shared the stories of their life with the author.

The author has penned this book in a style of telling it as everyday humor along with making a bit of fiction. The book has been added up with the inspiration drawn from multiple sources which has been merged into the story in a way that it has rendered the story a readable format to it.
The book has characters like Simon ‘Satellite’, Googly Gilbert, Gregory Gilbert, Wally Wordsworth, Goofy Gordon, Venkat Borapathy etc. who have intrigued me with their unique idiosyncrasies. There is a short narration about these characters, welded with humor and pranks, which was rather low while the ridicule quotient was comparatively high.
The book has been narrated in a good way yet it has failed to gel well with my sensibilities, maybe because, the back cover of the book states that it is all about the genre of humor and here there is a more of ridicule and sarcasm quotient. I anticipate it to be a laugh riot and when I read the book I found this element nowhere, the book dampened my reading experience. However, it might be possible, if you read out this without any biases.
Surely a one time read and can be regarded and a time-pass book. So just get it from lelobooks, an online bookstore in India and make your weekend filled with humor and delight. Order now and get the book at your doorstep.

Lelobooks Excerpts By Crime Author, Agatha Christie

Recognized as the “Queen of Crime”, Agatha Christie holds the Guinness Book of World Records for the best selling novelist of all times, with her novels, which having been sold off with approximately 4 billion copies. While at the age of 24, when she was working as a nurse, she gave it a thought to writing and within one year, she completed her first book, with the subject of detection. However, this detective novel by her was published in 1920, five years later.

Thereafter, Agatha became the acknowledged Queen of the Golden Age and all in all she has penned about 66 novels, innumerable short stories and screenplays and a series of romantic novels, using the pen name, Mary Westmacott. Even many of her works have been translated into the feature films and among all the most notable being Murder on the Orient Express (1974). This great Crime writer’s works have been translated in over than 100 languages. In a nutshell, Agatha Christie is acknowledged as the single most popular mystery writer of all time.
The author was awarded the high honor of fetching a Dame of the British Empire. To me also, what appeals me the most about her writings is that the way the writer writes, leaving around small clues all over the novel, along with her style of description, as while reading you will find yourself as sitting and attending an English play.

So, just do not miss out this year, the International  Agatha Christie Festival, 2014, which has been decided to be held in September from 14th to 2st, based at Torre Abbey in Torquay. The chief guest of the festival is the author, Sophie Hannah.
So, here I have come up to you with two of her most amazing novels of all times.

 1. And Then There Were None
The novel by Agatha Christie, adapted into a Hindi movie (Gumnaam – 1965). It is probably the only novel by her which has been translated into Hindi feature film. It is the best selling novel with 100 million sales till date and has  its main plot which has been constructed on the nursery rhyme 10 Little Niggers.
The novel has a story of 10 strangers, accountable for an assortment of crimes, who are lured into an Island on the pretext of different reasons. They are stuck on the island due to bad climatic conditions when one by one all the guests killed in a similar way, in which the characters in the nursery rhyme die. And Then There Were None is one of Agatha Christie’s best-known works and you’ll find it fascinating just similar to that of those Alfred Hitchcock suspense movies.

2. The Murder of Roger Ackroyd
This book is claimed to be as one of utter brilliance and the author has penned in an advanced way as compared to the then British Crime literature in regard with the main plot and the charming characters. The novel revolves around the demise of Roger Ackroyd and the following story seems to be connected with the series of deaths. This is one of the best Hercule Poirot mysteries and you will remain overwhelmed when the story comes to its closing stages.

Indian Beauties On The Red Carpet At Cannes Film Festival 2014

This season, the F word has changed its meaning with the advent of Cannes Film Festival and taken upon as France, film, and fashion. This film festival titled as Cannes has always been the eye of the cultural form. In the recent years, Cannes has earned fame even by Bollywood royalty as they are also descended upon the Cannes Red Carpet with their gala finery on, giving an outlook that the festival has a bit of something for everybody.  So, my dear ladies, just grab  a cup of joe and settle down, as here I am going to share with you something which is of your interest, the Indian beauties, who were part of Cannes 2014.

Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan, the model of our favorite Sabyasachi campaign, grabbed everyone’s eyeballs  in her column of gold by Roberto Cavalli. She is a former Bollywood Princess and here at Cannes has definitely come into her own as the reigning queen, making sure that no one dare to criticize her post-baby body ever again. Kristin Chenoweth might have also been dressed in the same attire  at the Oscars,  but for me no one can beat Aishwarya, no matter when in gala finery or simple casual dress, as I really admire her beauty and style.

I really do not know that it is just me or everyone thinks that everything looks perfect when is touched by Aish. Those gorgeous red lips of this pretty lady grabs the attention of everyone, including even the passer-bys.  It struck me to such an extent that when I saw it, I decided to grab it one and just hope to get the exact shade.

After the Goddess of beauty, Aishwarya Rai, let me talk about the female style icon of India, Sonam Kapoor, who has always been the headline for unique fashion. The actress has come a long way since her hot and divisive nose ring at last year's Cannes, which topped off everyone's 'Best-Dressed' List, this year she has stepped the red carpet with a sheer pink Anamika Khanna sari.  No doubt that the attire she was wearing is a sari with a dupatta that has been thrown around her shoulders, yet it has an appearance of much high-fashion, which she has always made  when she has always out-stood. The actress paired it with a stunning pearl and gold choker, which has been designed by her mother, Sunita Kapoor. OMG, is this whole family is some fashion-forward?

Not strictly related to Bollywood, but absolutely charming nonetheless, Freida Pinto appeared with glamor which made me drool over her looks, all the day long.  With her Michael Kors attire, she was looking ravishing, but has not topped my list of most appealing attire, yet the actor made her appearance absolutely stunning with her crimson lipstick on.

The L'Oreal Indian girls have appeared with the monochromatic looks at Cannes, they all looked elegant and stunning leaving me with a doubt bout with whom I would want to go at Cannes…LOL, I mean I don’t know which I'd want to go to Cannes for - the movies or these ravishing beauties.

Now, the question arises that why do sentences in the content detract from the message being delivered? This is due to the fact that there is a link between the piece of writing in the terms of the message being delivered by his content and the trust which the readers have upon the author. Moreover, when there occurs some errors in the language used by a writer, obviously subconsciously, so just wonder how they got on the wrong track. Our penchant to admire their power and pay consideration to what they are saying is diminished, even if only a little.
In order to write a flawless content, a writer need to give due importance to the process of proofreading as it will help you in pointing out the mistakes like spelling, tenses or some typing mistakes and to pay attention to the rules of grammar. ·         You should know that the words which you are employing are apt in your content. You can also use dictionary in order to double check with your words.
·         Keep in mind that it is always better to use words with simplicity as it describes well and makes your content readable to the readers, which is yet another factor to make your content read by more and more readers thus dragging in more and more traffic of the target audience. Avoid using complicated words as sometimes it becomes tricky and risky.
