Book Review: With a Pinch of Salt by Jas Anand

The book is all about everyday humor, based on the observations that has been picked from various people’ funny  tendencies in people by creating caricatures and anecdotes around them. Like for example,  there are some people who cannot answer in a straight way as if you ask them a simple question, what is the time, they will not answer you what you have actually asked for rather tell you things happening in their life that are associated with the present time, just like beating about the bush and will bore you with their life stories.
In the  book, this tendency of beating about the bush ha been characterized as the fictional character called Simon Satellite and along with this character in the book, you will also find many more characters along with anecdotes. The book show that our life is a continuous series of stories and the tales in our lives keep on narrating as while one story ends, the other starts. If we all just realize and observe, we all do come in contact with so many people and characters, each having various stories of its own that they share with us at various points.
The first chapter of the book will introduce you with numerous characters and these characters are all those with whom the author has come across in his life till now and these people have shared the stories of their life with the author.

The author has penned this book in a style of telling it as everyday humor along with making a bit of fiction. The book has been added up with the inspiration drawn from multiple sources which has been merged into the story in a way that it has rendered the story a readable format to it.
The book has characters like Simon ‘Satellite’, Googly Gilbert, Gregory Gilbert, Wally Wordsworth, Goofy Gordon, Venkat Borapathy etc. who have intrigued me with their unique idiosyncrasies. There is a short narration about these characters, welded with humor and pranks, which was rather low while the ridicule quotient was comparatively high.
The book has been narrated in a good way yet it has failed to gel well with my sensibilities, maybe because, the back cover of the book states that it is all about the genre of humor and here there is a more of ridicule and sarcasm quotient. I anticipate it to be a laugh riot and when I read the book I found this element nowhere, the book dampened my reading experience. However, it might be possible, if you read out this without any biases.
Surely a one time read and can be regarded and a time-pass book. So just get it from lelobooks, an online bookstore in India and make your weekend filled with humor and delight. Order now and get the book at your doorstep.
