Book Review: “I am Oscar: Life is Freaky” by Ken Spillman

“I am Oscar: Life is Freaky” by Ken Spillman is a tale of a boy who is struggling hard in his life after the death of his father. He in his growing years trying to find his feet at a new school and encounters a plague of stick it notes. This little boy is not allowed to have a phone and is not allowed to use Facebook. Life around him is getting freakier where he tries to maintain his calm. The author has penned his imagination in a very developed form. The author of 40 books and the editor of many has written in many genres, but is admired and liked by the young people.  Ken Spillman developed his mind’s eye while growing up among mountains of books and playing in bush land on the rim of a secluded Australian city. He is now the author of around 40 books and the editor of many others. His work spans several genres but he is best known for his writing for young people. The author is also the writer of the Daydreamer Dev series (from 2011) and two other acclaimed books with Indian characters and settings Advaita the Writer (2011) and Radhika Takes the Plunge (2012). He is a admired international speaker on books, writing and creativity, and has presented sessions to tens of thousands of school children in Australia, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Oman, Philippines and Singapore.
