The story revolves around the three friends Shabd, Sushil and Soumya and at the age of seventeen, who study in K.V. Chandigarh. Shabd, son of a Junior warrant officer in the Air Force is an all rounder personality in his school and is in love with Soumya, who is a daughter of Air Force Officer. Because of the difference in the ranks of both of their fathers, Shabd finds it difficult to communicate his feelings to Soumya. In the mean time, their friend Sushil gets recruited in the Air Force, Shabd joins AFMC and looks forward to become an eligible match for Soumya. But fate has its own destiny as when he comes out he finds that his love is already married.
The author has very well applied a transition period and immediately takes its readers at a length of 20 years. Noe, in late thirties Sushil, the sergeant has been posted at AF station Agra and is a father of two little kids. Whereas, Shabd is still unmarried and still clings to Soumya’s memories and has been advised by Sushil that Shabd should consult a psychiatrist.
