Revolution 2020
The tagline of the mentioned novel itself states what all can be expected out of it; Revolution 2020: Love, Corruption, Ambition. However, in his interview Chetan has brushed off to this assumption and made the readers clear about his book, stating that it a love triangle, keeping India education as its backdrop. The novel has three protagonists Gopal, Raghav and Aarti, making the three corners of this mentioned love triangle in the story. The names of the protagonists simply dictate the genders which further give a hint that these two are desperate to with the girl. The novel gives a reflection of any Bollywood flick but in its in depth, Revolution 2020 novel unearths the two characters that are encountered with India political system, both striving hard to attain love, fame and success. The only common thread in their lives is Aarti, their love. Want to know what happens at the end? Who gets the lady of his life? The title itself gives a clue about the novel but also leaves you thinking about its storyline. The novel is an utter love story of a boy from North and girl from South, an entertaining and easy read. The climax is the most interesting part where a love affair converts into marriage, which seems no less than a battle won. The novel cam way before the start of Chennai Express as like the movie, the story opens up when this Punjabi boy Krish Arora meets Tamilian girl Ananya Swaminanthan in IIMA mess, the place where they study together. The story follows in the journey of convincing their parents. The relationship is jeopardized with ethnic disconnect. The novel is a compelling-read with a humorous tone.
3 mistakes of my life
Like the other novel of Chetan Bhagat, this novel also enjoyed high appreciation with its feature of readability. This novel arrived in late 2000, the story recounts the life of three friends; Omi, Ishaan and Govind. The story starts with a prologue in which one of the three protagonists Govind sends a suicidal email to the author and the author all the way from Singapore comes to see him and lend an ear to him. The story is about how these three youths manage to make their survival in Ahmedabad. The story highlights Govind’s acumen in business and Ishaan’s love for cricket which led them to open up a shop with the assistance of Omi’s family. The story is about how they survive with limited riches and capabilities and in the course of their survival they encounter all religious politics, earthquakes, riots, unacceptable love along with their own wrong deeds of the past. Will they make it happen? Can an individual’s dreams triumph over the nightmares presented to him in his real life? Can an individual thrive despite making a few mistakes in his life?
5 point someone
This is the first novel by Chetan Bhagat, published in 2004. The novel is a story of three friends in IIT, struggling hard to score the highest grade and ends up in vain. The book opens up with a disclaimer stating, “This is not a book to teach you how to get into IIT or even how to live in college. In fact, it describes how screwed up things can get if you don't think straight." The story revolves around the protagonist Hari and his 2 friends Alok and Ryan, struggling hard to bring up their GDP with a weird outlook towards life and big time they realize that they are at the lowest echelons of IIT society. With the turning of the pages, you will come to see the darker side of the life of IITians. The story talks about the three friends and their family backgrounds and what their family expects from them being IITians. Chetan by employing simple English has thrown light on the education system in India. Will they make it? Do under performers have a right to live? Can they show that they are not just a five-point-somebody but a five-point-someone? Place an online order now for your book.
one night at the call cener
The novel revolves around the six employees, working in call center named Connexions in Gurgaon, Haryana. The story opens up with a train journey from Kanpur to Delhi and the author meets a girl who promises to tell him her story on the condition, if he will make it as his second book. The novel is all crammed with loads of drama, the outcome of troublesome things happening to the mentioned characters. The story takes a dramatic twist and turn when God Himself calls them up. The novel has been adapted into a movie called Hello. This is yet another witty dark novel by Chetan Bhagat. Are you ready to take a call from God? So just grab your book and get ready to have mystifying experiences in the journey of the book.
Chetan Bhagat, referred as the “Youth Icon of India” is a popular Indian author who has been seen as the face of the progressive youth of India. Through his literary works, the author has thrown light on the social facets like the desire to have materialistic gains in the new and young India. In my conclusion over Chetan’s works, I would say that this writer has fire and streak to bring about changes in society with his write ups and has writer his books in reference of the psyche of India Youth.
